Best Weight Loss Injections San Antonio, Texas
Adults who are obese or overweight are less likely to get heart disease if they lose just 5–10% of their body weight through food and exercise, but this isn’t always realistic or possible. The FDA has approved weekly Semaglutide injections for those who are obese or overweight and have at least one condition that is caused by their weight. A shot of Semaglutide, in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, can result in weekly weight loss of up to two pounds! Keep reading to learn more about our weight loss injection options.
What is Semaglutide for Weight Loss?
Semaglutide is an FDA-approved injectable medication for weight loss. Semaglutide functions as a hormone to increase insulin secretion and slow the emptying of the stomach. Because of this, you’ll be able to cut back on your food intake while still maintaining your full feeling.
In 2017, the medicine was approved at a lower dose to help people with Type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar levels. The excellent blood sugar-lowering effects of Semaglutide are complemented by the pleasant side effect of decreased hunger. Semaglutide, when tested at a higher dose in patients without Type 2 diabetes, was found to be safe and effective for weight loss in adults meeting certain criteria.
Wegovy Semaglutide Weight Loss Injections
We are now offering Wegovy injections for weight loss! Wegovy 2.4 mg (semaglutide) is an injectable prescription medication. Patients of any age, including those younger than 12 years old, who are obese (body mass index 30) or overweight (BMI 27) and suffering from weight-related health issues may find success with this treatment. Wegovy works best when combined with a low-calorie diet and regular physical activity.
- Products containing Semaglutide or other GLP-1 receptor agonist medicines should not be used with Wegovy.
- Combining Wegovy with other weight reduction treatments, whether they be prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal, is not yet known to be safe or effective.
- Whether or not Wegovy is safe for patients with a history of pancreatitis is unknown.
- Wegovy’s efficacy and safety in children less than 12 have not been established.
How Do Wegovy Weight Loss Injections Work?
Wegovy is effective because it mimics the hormone ghrelin, which regulates the appetite and food intake. As a result, you may find yourself eating less and losing weight.
Semaglutide mimics the hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which influences appetite regulation centers in the brain. The digestive tract secretes the incretin hormone after a meal. It prevents sugar from being produced, which means your blood sugar level drops. You’ll start eating less as a result, and eventually lose around a pound per week. You don’t have to diet in addition to taking Semaglutide to lose weight, even though doing so will help you do so more quickly and for longer.
What Are the Benefits of Wegovy Semaglutide Weight Loss Injections?
Wegovy’s active ingredient, Semaglutide, is the first and only proven safe and effective hormone-based weight loss medicine.
Some of Wegovy’s positive effects on health include:
- Bring down blood sugar without making someone hypoglycemic
- Reductions were seen in the prevalence of obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, inflammatory markers, and oxidative stress.
- Appetite suppression
- Increased Insulin Secretion and Production
- Decreased levels of the hormone glucagon both before and after a meal
- Glucagon hormone levels are lower before and after meals
- You’ll feel fuller for longer because gastric emptying in the intestines is slowed
- Loss of body fat is obvious and dramatic
- Obesity-related risk factors for cardiovascular disease were significantly reduced
In clinical trials, patients using Semaglutide typically dropped 10% or more of their starting body weight. Over half of them lost at least 15% of their body weight, which is the bare minimum that doctors prescribe in order to reduce the risk of acquiring certain chronic conditions.
What Are The Potential Side Effects of Wegovy?

Mounjaro is an injectable prescription drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when combined with a healthy diet and regular physical activity. The use of weight loss pills is not sanctioned. This year, you may see it advertised on labels as a weight loss aid.
It is unclear whether Mounjaro poses any health risks or benefits for people who have had pancreatitis. Mounjaro is not recommended for those with type 1 diabetes. The efficacy and safety of Mounjaro in patients younger than adults have not been determined.
What are the Benefits of Mounjaro for Weight Loss?
Mounjaro users have experienced dramatic weight reductions. As much as 25 pounds have been lost by some of the participants!
- Reduces Blood Sugar
- Slows Gastric Emptying
- Has satiety or fullness ingredients to reduce your hunger
- Similar profile to Wegovy but adds GIP (incretin) to reduce appetite.
- More robust weight loss results
How Do Mounjaro Injections Work?
The hormone GIP improves the efficacy of GLP-1 receptor-targeting medications. When GIP is used in conjunction with a GLP-1 receptor agonist, the effects of GIP on body weight, glucose, and lipids are amplified in preclinical models. There is some evidence that it can aid weight loss by decreasing calorie intake and boosting physical activity.
When you eat, your body releases hormones called incretins. By decreasing gastric emptying and increasing activity in the brain’s reward pathways, they help you feel full faster. They increase insulin production and decrease glucagon production, two hormones that contribute to maintaining normal blood sugar levels. Since all of these processes rely on glucose, it is not predicted that incretin hormones or their imitators, such as GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonists, will produce severe hypoglycemia.
What Happens If I Miss A Mounjaro Dose?
Set a specific date for when your therapy will begin. From then on, you can schedule your weekly Mounjaro session whenever it best suits your schedule.
We are cognizant of the possibility of rearranging priorities. You should wait at least three days (72 hours) before switching the day of the week on which you take your dose. Take Mounjaro as soon as you remember within 4 days (96 hours) if you miss a dose.
Do not take a double dose to make up for missing a dose if it has been more than 4 days since your last dose. If at all possible, you should avoid scheduling two consecutive Mounjaro climbs.
Setting a reminder on your phone can be helpful if you frequently forget that today is your Mounjaro day. If you create a reminder for a certain time but decide to switch the day instead, make sure to update the reminder to reflect the new time and day.

What is Wegovy/Ozempic/Mounjaro:
Made for diabetes and prediabetes in its original form, these substances (GLP-1) inhibit glucagon release (which inhibit Insulin) and increase insulin release from the pancreas to decrease Hgb A1c which is a marker for diabetes. These substances also reduce the time it takes for food to get through the stomach.
Mounjaro additional has another hormone that makes you feel full called GIP which directly targeting receptors I the brain to inhibit caloric intake as well as increase effectiveness of GLp-1 and is more effective than Ozempic in this case. As of 4-24-23, Mounjaro is not approved for weight loss, but Wegovy is. We expect this to change some time soon.
